About Us

Elephant Talk is a Colorado-based 501(c)3 nonprofit corporation that began with a mission to provide dialogue systems for social inclusion events that were focused on interfaith, inter-cultural, and inter-racial programs. And we still believe deeply in that mission – which is something we hope may again be in our future. However, we recognize that it’s critical that any nonprofit be relevant and responsive to the current needs of the community we serve – and today people are most concerned about the basic fundamentals of jobs, home, food and finance.

Today, the founders of Elephant Talk bring an interesting set of perspectives to this current problem – and the solution. For example:

For over two decades, the founders have performed research, analytics, and process and supply chain analysis for large numbers of Fortune 500 companies;
For over two decades, the founders have proven their ability to bring creative and practical solutions to large and complex business solutions;
For the past two and a half years, the founders have learned – by fire hose – the intricacies of the nonprofit world; and,
For the past 90-120 days, the founders have researched the operational aspects of food banks all over Denver.
We believe that these combinations of proven skills, practical experience, topic-matter expertise, and the strong desire to find innovative solutions to a fundamental flaw in the system has ideally positioned Elephant Talk as a viable – if not the most ideal – solution to this looming problem. Further, as a nonprofit corporation, our goals and mission are guided by providing social value – not the metrics that might influence a for-profit organization.

In conclusion, we have the ability to bring together supply (farmers and ranchers) and demand (food banks providers) to resolve a critical problem in a unique way. We believe that the bulk of the cost going forward will be met by State and Federal grants, meaning we will only require a minimal investment from the private community to launch this program. If successful, it could provide enough financial support to benefit (at least) the largest Colorado farmers and ranchers – while ensuring that all Colorado families receive the food they need to provide for their families.

Elephant Talk is an approved 501(c)3 charitable organization.
